Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing team in Apex, NC. This role involves providing care to an established patient population while working closely with a supervising psychiatrist.
Max Psychiatry is an outpatient private psychiatry practice based in Apex, NC. We operate in a fully paperless environment, so comfort with electronic systems is important. We participate with most major insurance plans, and candidates already credentialed with BCBS, UBH, Cigna, or Medicare are preferred. Credentialing support is available if needed.

General Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, including medication prescribing and management
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for assigned patients
- Maintain a supportive, recovery-focused care environment
- Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, therapists, and support staff
- Communicate clearly with patients and, when appropriate, their families
- Assist with documentation and administrative responsibilities as needed
Education and Experience
- Master of Science in Nursing (PMHNP) or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Active and unrestricted state license
- Board certification as a PMHNP or PA
- Current DEA registration
- Minimum of 1 year experience in psychiatric or mental health care
- Professional liability insurance in good standing (minimum coverage: $1M/$3M)
- Ability to successfully complete a background screening
Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Requirements
- Active and unrestricted state license (Psychologist, LCSW, or LPC)
